Use this diet when switching your bird from its old diet to Roudybush. Continue to feed to adult birds that are not laying eggs or feeding chicks. Lories and lorikeets, which will accept this diet, will have drier droppings than they have on nectar. If you have a bird that is a chronic egg-layer or a bird with a tendency to develop hypocalcaemia (like African Greys), mix 2/3 Maintenance with 1/3 High-Energy Breeder to supply more calcium and vitamin D3. Do not give additional vitamin or mineral supplements. Fresh fruit and vegetable treats may be given as a minor part of the diet.

Budgies love it!! It didn’t take long for them to accept it from their previous seed diet. It has been so beneficial for my female budgie, she was quite overweight these pellets have really changed her life for the better she has lost all the excess weight and is doing so well!! Highly recommend!
Also to add amazingly fast shipping so that is a huge bonus!!

I have a cockatiel who came to me as a bit of a sunflower seed junkie and after an X-ray at the vet, he was showing the starting signs of fatty liver disease at only two years old. I’d tried other brands of pellet already, but no luck so far. Still, I wanted to get him onto a pelleted diet and along with a month of twice-daily meds for his liver, my avian vet recommended Roudybush daily maintenance pellets. I know other bird owners won’t have such an easy transition experience, but I fed my little guy some pellets in my hand and he took to them straight away. From there, he was happily chowing down on them in his food bowl. Literally the same day. I couldn’t believe it, to the point that I wondered if he was just breaking them down for fun, but not eating them. Monitoring his droppings showed otherwise. He’s been eating them from day one without issue. (I only wish he’d eat a wide variety of veggies that readily, but that’s still a work in progress.) For any cockatiel owners wondering what size to buy, I’ve tried three sizes of pellets: crumble, nibles, mini. My boy likes the first two and not the last, I’d say because they’re smaller and look to be easier for him to break down and eat. It makes me so happy to know my cockatiel is now eating a much healthier alternative to seeds and hopefully helping his liver situation. In short, I highly recommend Roudybush as a first (and hopefully only) pellet to try to convert your bird to. As a bonus, less seeds mean I’m now vacuuming less too! Another win in my books ????
